History skills and careers beyond the academy

In this special one-off seminar, we will hear from a wonderful series of speakers who have taken their history degrees into the private and public sectors – and flourished.

Come along to hear about how the skill sets you are developing can be deployed in applied history, major projects, consulting, policy formulation and implementation, or even in advising the Chief of the Australian Army!

This is a terrific opportunity to get a sense of the possibilities of a degree in history.

Speakers include:

Alicia Cerreto, President, Professional Historians Association, Victoria

Sarah Rood, Principal Historian, Way Back When Consulting Historians

Dr Jessica Freame, Project Director, Department of Health and Human Services, Victoria

Dr Simon Booth, A/Executive Director, Tertiary Education Policy and Strategic Projects Division, Department of Education and Training, Victoria

Dr Corinne Manning, former advisor to the Chief of the Australian Army

The seminar runs 11am-1pm

Wednesday 15 August

at Deakin Downtown, 727 Collins Street, Melbourne.

(Deakin Downtown is walking distance from Southern Cross station)
