Clare Corbould discusses recent fiction on ABC RN’s The Bookshelf

CHRG member Associate Professor Clare Corbould appeared last week on ABC Radio National’s weekly program, The Bookshelf. Hosted by Kate Evans and Cassie McCullagh, the show invites guests to discuss recent fiction. Inevitably, the conversation ranges more widely. Clare discusses two recent works of historical fiction by American authors and set in the United States: Charles Frazier’s Varina, about the wife of Confederate President Jefferson Davis, and Nathaniel Rich’s third novel set in New Orleans at the end of WWI, King Zeno. With the other guest, Erik Jensen who edits the Saturday Paper, she also talks about Helen Garner’s work. The podcast is available via the RN Bookshelf website.
