Congratulations to Professor David Lowe who has been elected as the Smuts Visiting Research Fellow at The University of Cambridge for 2018-2019. Professor Lowe will commence this prestigious fellowship in October 2018, returning in March 2019. During this period, David will investigate the role of the Commonwealth in the Asian-focused decade of the 1950s, in mobilising organisationally and with ideas and actions, in relation to development needs and responses for decolonising Asia.
David is Chair in Contemporary History in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. David is a co-founder of the Australian Policy and History network and a member of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Editorial Advisory Board, advising the Australian Foreign Minister with respect to the Documents on Australian Foreign Policy Series.
