akolander recently edited the new volume of Life Writing journal (volume 14, issue 3). This journal issue resulted from the Contemporary Histories Research Group’s symposium ‘The Limits of Life Writing’. Read more about this issue and the symposium in Professor McCooey’s editorial.
Professor McCooey teaches Literary Studies and Professional & Creative Writing in the School of Communication and Creative Arts at Deakin University, and supervises Honours and postgraduate students. David’s work has been published in both national and international journals. In 1996, David’s critical work Artful Histories: Modern Australian Autobiography (1996, re-published 2009) won the New South Wales Premier’s Literary Award and in 1997 was short-listed for the Colin Roderick Award for Best Australian Book.
Associate Professor Takolander teaches Literary Studies and Professional & Creative Writing in the School of Communication and Creative Arts at Deakin University. She supervises Honours and postgraduate students in Literary Studies and Creative Writing. Maria is the author of a book of short stories, The Double; three collections of poetry, The End of the World, Ghostly Subjects and Narcissism; and a work of literary criticism Catching Butterflies: Bringing Magical Realism to Ground.
