Dr Greg Burgess recently had a chapter published, titled ‘L’office français de protection des réfugiés et apatrides et le droit d’asile constitutionnel’, in a collection edited by Aline Angoustures, Dzovinar Dévonien & Claire Mouradian – Réfugiés et apatrides. Administrer l’asile en France (1920-1960).The chapter analyses the creation of the French national refugee office (OFPRA) in 1952 and questions whether it fulfilled France’s guarantee of the right of asylum written into the 1946 and 1958 Constitutions.
