Games Goals Glory: The A-League’s Teams, Players, Coaches and Greatest Moments
to be launched by Professor David Lowe at 1.15 pm on Wednesday 26 October in the Western Beach Room of the Sally Walker Building at Deakin University’s Waterfront Campus. Entry via Cunningham Street or from Western Beach Road.

Games Goals Glory, which is published by Hardie Grant and edited by Roy Hay, and has a stellar cast of contributors including Socceroos’ coach Ange Postecoglou, Simon Hill, Andy Harper, Michael Cockerill, Melanie McLaughlin, Joe Gorman, Richard Kreider, Bill Murray and Andrew Howe. Packed with illustrations, Games Goals Glory is the essential companion to the new A-League season and the ideal present for fans of the game and anyone who wants to know what the competition is all about.
David and Roy will also discuss Roy Hay’s Football and War: Australia and Vietnam 1967–1972, A Missing Part of the National Narrative, SESA, 2016, which tells the story of the Australian team sent to Saigon in the middle of the war to take part in and win the National Day tournament, the first international trophy for football won by this country. Finally, the paperback edition of Roy Hay & Bill Murray’s A History of Football in Australia: A Game of Two Halves, published by Hardie Grant is now available. The hardback edition of 2014 sold out.
