Professor David McCooey Writes for The Conversation: “Explainer: Are Bob Dylan’s Songs ‘Literature’?”

DMccooey_ProfileImageProfessor David McCooey was recently published on The Conversation about the new Nobel Laureate, Bob Dylan. The article, “Explainer: Are Bob Dylan’s Songs ‘Literature’?”, was followed by David’s appearance on Radio National Music on Saturday 15 October on this topic.

David teaches Literary Studies and Professional & Creative Writing in the School of Communication and Creative Arts at Deakin University, and supervises Honours and postgraduate students. David’s work has been published in both national and international journals. In 1996, David’s critical work Artful Histories: Modern Australian Autobiography (1996, re-published 2009) won the New South Wales Premier’s Literary Award and in 1997 was short-listed for the Colin Roderick Award for Best Australian Book.
