Congratulations to Professor David Lowe for His Successful Grant Application

CHRG_DLoweProfile2015Professor David Lowe is Chair in Contemporary History in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. David is a co-founder of the Australian Policy and History network and a member of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Editorial Advisory Board, advising the Australian Foreign Minister with respect to the Documents on Australian Foreign Policy Series.

Professor Lowe’s grant, from the Australia Japan Foundation at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is titled: Australia’s Embassy in Tokyo: History from Australian and Japanese Perspectives.

The grant application was lauded for the “quality of the application and project; the relevance to AJF goals and objectives; the extent to which the bilateral relationship could be promoted through the proposed activity; the project’s long-term sustainability (including potential self-sustainability without AJF funds); and the project’s capacity to develop new and strengthen existing partnerships between Australia and Japan”.
