Dr Robert Kenny presents “Landscapes” at our History Seminar Series today, jointly presented by the Centre for the Study of the Inland, LaTrobe University.
Abstract: The concept of landscape operated in various ways in the act of settlement. Two aspects interest me here. One: the difference and similarity between what settlers had experienced in their originating landscapes and what they expected and experienced in the country they settled. Two: the changes wrought on the Indigenous landscape by the settler presence and the Indigenous reaction to it.
Details regarding time and locations.
