Dr Jemma Purdey is an Indonesian studies scholar, with a particular interest in political biography and ethnic minorities. She is Research Fellow in the Faculty of Arts and the Australia Indonesia Centre at Monash University. Her PhD thesis on the final years of the New Order was published in 2006 as Anti-Chinese Violence in Indonesia, 1996-1999. ASAA SEA Publication Series, NUS, Singapore.
