This paper relates to the forthcoming publication by Greg Burgess: The League of Nations and the Refugees from Nazi Germany: James G. McDonald and Hitler’s Victims (London & New York: Bloomsbury) due for release on 20 October 2016.
The Working Papers series is designed to ‘air’ work that is currently underway and undergoing further thinking and refining. The papers are generally of no more than 3,500 words and can be based on members’ recent seminar/conference papers, first thoughts envisaging longer pieces intended for journals, extended versions of opinion pieces written for media and wider audiences, or ‘kite-flying’ exercises desiring feedback.
