Professor David Lowe elected a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia

Professor David Lowe has just been elected a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia. He was elected in the annual General Ballot by his peers on the basis of his distinguished contribution to one or more of the Social Sciences (in this case, History, in particular) that has been recognised internationally. He will be welcomed at the Academy’s Annual General Meeting in Canberra in mid-November.

David becomes the fourth Deakin University historian to be elected to the Academy. Others who were elected while historians at Deakin were Professor Bill Rubinstein, Professor Joan Beaumont and Professor David Walker.
