Professor Jim Cullen is an American cultural historian whose scholarship has covered the colonial period to the present, with a particular focus on the history of popular culture.
Jim is delighted to visit Deakin University in the winter of 2015, where he will be working on a forthcoming project, Alternating Currents: The United States Since 1945, a textbook with a strong cultural orientation slated for publication with Wiley-Blackwell in 2017.
“I consider the appointment one of the highlights of my career,” Jim says. “I look forward to collaborating with students and faculty in a vibrant intellectual community which reconceptualises traditional academic disciplines in exciting ways.”
