Jo Chandler – Winner of Melbourne Press Club Quill for Best Feature

Jo Chandler, Honorary Fellow and member of the Contemporary Histories Research Group, was awarded the Melbourne Press Club Quill in March 2014 for Best Feature, for her Papua New Guinea stories for The Daily Mail. In 2014, Jo was also awarded the University of New South Wales Bragg Prize for Science Journalism for her piece TB and Me: A Medical Souvenir. This follows her award of the same prize in 2012, and her short-listing in 2013.

In 2013, Jo was awarded the George Munster Prize for Independent Journalism for her work on Papua New Guinea.

In 2009 Chandler earned a Walkley Award (Australia’s most coveted journalism prize) for commentary and analysis for articles generated by trips to the Democratic Republic of Congo and Mozambique.
